Toro Y Moi is the stage name of recording artist Chazwick Bundick. Bundick has experimented with a bunch of different sounds but seems to be falling into the electronic genre. Given bloggers and music critics incessant need to further classify must into genres, sub-genres and sub-sub-genres his music has been described by some as "chillwave" (see Washed Out, Neon Indian, Nite Jewel).

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Bundick is set to follow up 2010 record, Causers of This with his 2011 album Underneath the Pine due out in February. Check out a track off his 2010 record along with a remix of his buddy Washed Out.

Really solid set of classic 70s tunes and new edits from DJ duo Flight Facilities (responsible for that brilliant "Crave you featuring Giselle") . It's definitely not one of those furious, wax-burnin' mixes that switches tracks every 20 seconds, ala The Avalanches. This is more of a slow burn. Great stuff.

Earlier this year Hendrik Weber aka Pantha du Prince released his fantastic record Black Noise. One of the best records of 2010 in my opinion. The record features some collaborations with members of Animal Collective and LCD Soundsystem. If you haven't you really need to pick up the record. Recently Future Classic an Australian label uploaded a couple tracks of Mr. Weber's. Here is a remix by him and then a remix of his "Stick to my side" by Four Tet. Enjoy!

It's turkey day again, so here's what we'll be listening to while we stuff the bird and bake delicious pies. Hopefully this pic of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will set the mood.

Here are a couple of our favorite recent tracks by the aformentioned T.E.E.D. which we have featured before but just have to post again, a favorite remixer in Moullinex and an edit by Social Disco Club.

Robyn is getting a lot of play out of her track "Indestructable." Here she teams up with remix, producer and all around music maestro A-Trak. Probably the best remix of this track yet. Check it out.

These disco edits from Rayko are perfect for your cocktail party playlist--or if you just need to take things down a notch around the holiday season. I especially appreciate this take on Broadway Nights. It takes a while to hit its stride, but when it does, it's so good.

Here's some very choice remixes for your weekend enjoyment, along with the video from Flight Facilities' "Crave You"--a track we've covered a little earlier this year, and which you'll find remixed below by the ever-industrious and wicked skillful Go Go Bizkitt! Speaking of skills, I can't get enough of Alan Braxe's remix of Narcissus from Pacific!, a duo out of Sweden. Incredible tune. We've also got a nice "Burnin" remix from Les Loups, a group out of Germany. A couple of these tracks are available for download, so jump on 'em while you can. (Update: you can also grab the Les Loups remix here.)

Mark E is a UK based DJ and producer. His track "RnB Junkie" that has been up on Soundcloud for quite some time is probably one of my favorite jams available. He has taken Ms. Janet Jackson classic track and stretched it all the way out to 9 minutes. Its a MUST listen:

So now that you have done that you should check out some remixes he has done. This guy has some serious skill. Check out remixes of Annie and Tensnake. Both equally fantastic.

Let's talk Chilly Gonzales. We've covered him in the past, but some of you may only know his music from that Ipad commercial. He released his latest album, Ivory Tower, back in September, but I've been circling back and listening to it quite a bit lately. It's all because of this unlikely, unbelievably catchy song. When I first heard "You Can Dance" on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, it was gleefully described as something that sounded like a campy showtune--(although they meant it in all the good ways). I have to say, it does sound like a showtune, but it's a fantastic track on every level.

The rest of the album is a wild mix of styles and sounds, including some mean piano work, and I have to say the whole package works for me. Definitely check it out if you haven't had a chance to hear it.

Here's a pair of new tracks from artists I'm really into at the moment. First up, there's this swanky Italian disco-style Treasure Fingers remix from Milan's own Gabriell. Very, very nice.

Oh, and since I posted the Beatles mini-mix from A.Skillz earlier this week, I've been working my way through his incredible arsenal of mixes (definitely don't miss this one) Today, I noticed he just offered up his wicked remix of "Come Together" that's been floating around for download. Grab it!

Leo Elstob aka Leo Zero has compiled the first edition of Disconnect, a new series by the !K7 sublabel Strut.

The Disconnect series seeks to find music in the obscure corners of a DJ's crate. Leo Zero does not disappoint with music ranging from reggae, Afrobeat, post-punk, proto-punk and disco all intricately tied together with his apt skill. The compilation is due in stores near the end of November.

Our friends in Reset!, those super-funky producers out of Milan responsible for that killer remix of Cassius's 1999, have released a mixtape of nearly every remix they did over the last year. So much good stuff in here.
Reset! is fresh off of performing at Hard Festival in LA (so wanted to be there!), and they'll be back in the US to perform at South by Southwest and WMC. Definitely tempted to start looking at flights down to Austin...

Here are three different remixes of "Somebody To Love Me"--a cut off the album "Record Collection" from Mark Ronson and the Business International. This is the track that features Boy George. Holy Ghost! delivers that deep-space discothque vibe that they do best, and England's Red Amber Green brings that electro touch. And I don't even know how to describe this remix from Congorock--but it's magnificent.

London can be a bit hit or miss for me but I am liking this recent stuff and his work with Machine Drum on the track "Late Night Operation" was one of my more favorite hip hop tracks from last year. I threw up a remix of that track here as well. Check it out.

The mighty Dimitri from Paris is rolling into Seattle this weekend for a Saturday night show. Over the years, I've never been able to catch a live set from the master of vintage disco and soul, so I'll definitely be there. To help ease the pain of waiting for the weekend, I've been listening to this fresh disco mix from the man himself.

Aloe Blacc and his band, the Grand Scheme, hit Seattle in soulful style on Friday night, welcoming the sold-out crowd into his "Church of Love and Happiness"--and from the moment the band wailed into the first song, it was all grins. Aloe Blacc strutted with the ease of a true soul man, effortlessly busting out some authentic Soul Train moves on stage while belting out his best jams. In fact, at one point, he even parted the crowd to create a Soul Train style dance line--which in Seattle, can be a little like asking a pack of Goth teens to pose for a family picture--and unbelievably, people jumped right in and got funky.

By now, most people will know the Aloe Blacc name from the breakout "I Need A Dollar" single, played everywhere from NPR to the intro to HBO's "How to Make it in America". Of course, his live performance of the track was as stunning as you'd imagine. The entire set was loaded not just with cuts from his excellent "Good Things" album, but also new takes on his best material and, most memorably, a jaw-dropping cover.

Don't miss Aloe Blacc and the Grand Scheme on tour--easily one of the best live shows I've seen all year.

Admittedly I don't listen to the Beatles all that often. Not that I don't think they are good, just not really interested in listening to them on a repeated basis. Maybe it stems from my childhood where it was the only band my mom would listen to...but I digress.

Even if you don't enjoy this mix this is a really skillfully (no pun intended) put together by A. Skillz. Nice mix of various Beatles' tracks and hip hop tracks. Only 7 minutes long. Check it out.

Fare Soldi just threw up a remix of possible the largest club jam of the year Swedish House Mafia's "One." I actually think I prefer the remix in this case. Fare Soldi came to my attention after hearing the ace remix of Duck Sauce earlier this year. Fare Soldi is Santana Pasta and Luka Carnifull. Check out this remix.

Here's a fresh track from the always smooth Dam-Funk, pulled from the free "Wake Up Your Phone" mixtape put together by Stones Throw and Sandisk. This track definitely has that instrumental gangsta vibe going for it. Spaced-out synths, tilt-your-seat-waaaay-back bass lines, and those signature Dam-Funk beats.

Looks like he'll be cruising through Seattle soon, playing a show on December 10th at Nectar. Oh yeah...I'll definitely be there.

Check out this great mix Italian DJ and producer Bottin cooked up for Australia's Triple J radio. It's definitely got a disco bend to it, but it covers really wide band of styles and sounds--which sort of mirrors the man himself, actually. Bottin has been putting out some fantastic stuff lately, and this is no exception.
