Here are my top tracks of two thousand and nine. I am not too interested in placing them in any type of hierarchy. I am interested in reading what tracks you agree with and especially interested in the ones you disagree with.

Hope everyone had a great New Year. I hope to get up my favorite albums very soon and we still have some other lists to come. It's hard getting things done under the Jamaican sun.

These are a few of my favorite things...remixes from 2009. Hope you enjoy them. We have some good stuff coming up. Top 10 tracks for 2009 from yours truly along with some fellow bloggers, DJs and producers. Should be a good read and hope you get the chance to check it out. I'll be heading to Jamaica here but will be posting reggae tracks while I am down there.

Hope everyone had a great holiday break. Check out some solid remixes from 2009. Peace.

New mix from Rotterdam's Elitechnique. We have posted some tracks awhile back and now, just in time for the holidays Remco sends over their winter mix. I highly recommend you check it out. Elitechnique certainly has the pulse on this emerging disco house electro movement that is going on. Check it out.

I have been anticipating more tracks for Jay Electronica for sometime. He and Just Blaze have finally released a quality version of their track "Exhibit C" (there have been various radio rips floating around for a minute). "Exhibit A (Transformations)" was pretty awesome...these two gentleman are making some great stuff and I am real excited for Jay's debut project. Check out what Filter/Wikipedia has to say about the project.

According to a Filter TV interview, Jay Electronica has partnered with Decon to release his debut project. It is being described as a multi-media release and footage from the project which was partially shot in Nepal and Dubai has begun to surface online. The first clip to leak is titled "Dear Moleskin" and can be found on here (the track was produced by Just Blaze and the clip was directed by Jason Goldwatch from Decon.
In June, Jay's "The Dogon Society" released "Exhibit A" digitally. This is "Exhibit C" and its real good. Excited about what this dude is bringing to hip hop. Check out the track.

This is what the future sounds like boys and girls. Give this a spin. Sound is absolutely amazing. Vintage MJ and Quincy stuff here...I keep talking about this dude like a broken record but his production is remarkable.

The new record out now is Real Life No Cool and its set to be one of my favorite of the year. Get it here. I don't know how this isn't the best song of the year. Love to hear your counter argument.

Bonus: Get yourself Lindstrom's 40 minute edit of "Little Drummer Boy" for your holiday party here.

I used to be obsessed with listening to 80's new wave electro pop while in high school and early on in college. While listening to 80's in the late 90's wasn't really "cool" I have always loved the heavy bass and synth that dominated the 80's sound. Its great to see this coming back with some new acts (Chromeo, Van She, Valerie Collective etc.).

Here is a band from Moscow called Tesla Boy. Group features Anton Sevidov (lead, back-vocals and keys), Dima Midborn (bass, back-vocals) and Boris Lifshits (drums). They have an self entitled EP out now. Make sure you check it out.

Buy: Get the records here.

More about Tesla Boy from my friends over at Discodust.

If you haven't picked up El Guincho's Alegranza album I really think you should. While my comprehension of spanish is low, the record really is fantastic. El Guincho has rewarded us with a single release for the track "Antillas." This single is released along with a single for "Kalise" as well.

The single features remixes by some pretty remarkable people from Prins Thomas, Bass Clef, XXXchange, Architecture in Helsinki and others. You know I had to feature the remix done by fellow Norweigan Prins Thomas. Check it out and then head over and purchase the singles.

Young Turks along with Mad Decent released these four EP's with remixes of these two tracks.

Buy: Get the single with all 4 of the remixes here.

RJD2 has been one of those artists I kind of lost track of. I went bananas about his first two albums (Deadringer & Since We Last Spoke) in college listening to them obsessively then just kind of started listening to other stuff and forgot about him and would listen to him hear and there. I have always remained a fan and I love that he is open to trying new sounds and his projects with rappers like MHz, Blueprint and Aceyalone.

He has a new record entitled The Colossus is due out in 2010. He has leaked a single that you should certainly check out.
