I believe a stronger and catchier track than the track that launched her into the mainstream. My personal favorite off of The Reminder. Leslie Feist's single features 3 remixes by the some great people in Diplo, Gonzales and Escort. We talked about the Escort remix awhile back and you can check that out on Fader here. Check out the other tracks by clicking on the streams bellow.
Nice warm weather track by French hip hopper Cuizinier featuring the So Fresh Squad (also French). Embarassingly with all my trips to Montreal I know little to no French, so I have no clue what they are rapping about. I'm basing my enjoyment of this track solely on beat and cadence. Is that wrong?
Check out a track.

If the serial killer model video wasn't your thing Kanye and his people have a new video for the track "Flashing Lights." This one has a haunted house-Clue game-who done it theme. I like the video better than the other one but still not all that into this track.
Pretty catchy glitchy electro beat off the upcoming record LP3 by the Brooklyn based Ratatat. The record is all instrumental and I am actually enjoying it better than the last record, Classics which everyone was so bananas over. Check out the track:
Mp3: Ratatat - "Mirando"
They also have a music "video" of the track which is a bunch of mashed up Predator clips which is a bit lame if you ask me. Check it out here if you are so inclined.
Nice dance floor remix of Santogold's "Say Aha." Heavy bass drop with an almost reggae type sound too it. Remix is done by Tepr from Côte Ouest, France. Thanks to Franki Chan for the tip off.

Looptroop Rockers // The Building from Bad Taste Records on Vimeo.
Swedish hip hop group Looptroop Rockers released this video for their first single. Naturally Discobelle beat me to the punch and already has a remix of the track up. The album Good Things was out on April 23rd. The album is available on iTunes and its a good one.
This is a great track but I actually like "Marinate" off the album better. Be sure to check this one out. Nice sound and something a little bit different than the usual.
Huge post on classic essential hip hop over at One Day Later. Biz Markie, Soul Sonic Force, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Big Daddy Kane and more. Tons of live music. The most impressive collection of live hip hop I have seen online. Be sure to check it out.

Great remix by one of my favorite mashup/refixers/remixes Siik! Check out a bunch of his remixes here. So much gooooood stuff.
Mp3 link: Michael Jackson - "Do Your Remember the Time" (Siik Remix)
This track takes MJ's classic and mashes it up with a bit of Kick the Can Crew, a pop and hip hop group from Japan who I have never heard of.
Nice little article on the NY Times. Looking to have this thing all locked up tomorrow. Let get a majority of those pledge delegates and have a certain somebody finally admit its all over.
What is this? Superdelegates Turned Down $1 Million Offer From Clinton Donor? Eh?
Just stumbled upon this amazing group of artists and designers running a place called Heavyweight Production House. The site offers up some amazing artwork and music all with a great political bend. They even have a blog going. Check it out. Cool stuff.
One of my favorite hip hop records is The Herbaliser's Blow Your Headphones which they followed up with another great record in Very Mercenary. Their latest is Same as it Never Was more funky/soul sounding albums then their previous hip hop electronic endevours. The Herbaliser have featured a variety of guest vocalists including Jean Grae, Roots Manuva and the mighty MF Doom. Check out a track off the new album.

Kon and Amir's Off Track Vol. 2 features these two Brooklyn based music aficionados digging up some rare music. Kon cooks up some rare disco and switches it up with some customary re-edits. Amir features some great cuts from Africa and other far off places.
Kon and Amir do a great job of taking tracks from the past that most of us have never heard of and updating them with a more current edge. Don't miss this double disc.
Mp3: Terry Nova - "Push with Size" (Kon's Live Edit)
Be sure to check out Kon's blog Playin' 4 Keeps.
James Pants whos record, Welcome has been on constant rotation. Here is a remix of Howard Johnson's "Say Yah Wanna". Aside from a chain of questionable hotels I never knew Ho-Jo dabled in music. Obviously he was kind of a big deal in the 80s. Anyways check out James Pants remix on this obscure 80s track.

For all the MJ lovers out there. DJ Ayres gives the King of Pop respect with this chronological mix that you can download over at Fader blog.
I've never really been the largest MSTRKRFT fan. They seem a bit hipsterish but they do have a knack for making a great remix and they do a top notch job of switching up this track by the best dancer since Michael Jackson. MSTRKRFT remixes Usher's "Love in the Club." Check it out. Awesome break down at about 1:50 in.
Mp3: Usher - "Love in the Club" (MSTRKRFT Remix)
Another great example of their remixing talents is their work on Metic's "Monster Hospital" get that as well. You'll find it around on the internets.
All tracks taken down due to a DMCA request. Sorry. Please go to their myspace to hear the remix.
New music from one of my favorite producers out there. Queens based Ayatollah already has two great beat records under his belt and 2008 marks the release of his third album. Hes got such a soulful sound which explains why he has worked with some of the largest names in hip hop. His latest is called Louder. Check out a track.
Mp3: Ayatollah - "Circulate"

Great new release by Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra. This is the 7th in the Ping Pong Orchestra series and its all over the place...geographically speaking. Influenced by places Lee has been, and would like to visit, and was made using instruments throughout his trips. According to Ubiquity:
Miles of Styles is inspired by the multi-cultural mix of people in his hometown of London, the awe inspiring metropolis that is New York City, and by the mysterious uber-stylish vibe of Tokyo. Not to mention Jamaica, Finland, Greece, China, France and beyond…Be sure to check out this record. Its some great listening.
