Funny part about this whole thing is firing US States Attorneys is completely legal under the law. Where the problem occurs is when you lie and then try to do a half-assed cover up. Once again the Bush Administration proves that it can't pull anything off...well I guess they did promise to veto states rights for the District of Columbia. I am sure that Bush will be able to sign his name to a veto on that one.
