One of my goals is to learn more about reggae, dancehall, and soca. It is coming along and I feel I know more about the genre than I did a couple months ago. What has proven invaluable is talking and listening to those who really have a grip on the whole scene.
One of those people is DJ Double L of G13 sounds. His new mixtape In Ya Blood Clot Face: The Toughest Riddims Outta Yard is essential listening for those that want to learn more or those who are already experts just want a great dancehall mixtape. Couple of my favorite tracks are off the Stage Show Riddim. Check them out:
Mp3: Baby Cham - "Rude Boy Pledge"
Mp3: Assassin - "Good Over Evil"
In all the album is 58 songs over 9 riddims. Amazing compiliation and a great education.
Buy: Get in contact with Double L about picking up this mix tape. You can also email him.

Assassin - does anyone know what else hes done? Is it the same guy that released the "Infiltration" album?
Assassin has been doing it big for a while. Big tunes include "Ruffest & Tuffest" on the Diwali riddim, "Don't Like You" on the Applause riddim, "If You Bad" on Good To Go riddim, "Gully Sit'n", and many many more. He was also in the movie "Shottas" playing the little brother of Wayne, who was played by Spragga Benz...
