I have gotten great feedback as I delve deeper into the genre of dub. The latest artist that I have been listening to is Skream. The badass part is the kid is 19 years old (he started making music at the age of 14). Skream aka Olli Jones is from Croydon, a Borough in South London.
From Boomkat:
Skream really can lay a serious claim to the pure Dubstep crown - taking as he does the gut-shuddering bass that underlies the genre, then giving it a 20/20 top-spin of shrapnel melody which makes it as catchy as it is devastating.
I picked up two of his records. Skream Vol. 1 and Skream Vol. 2. Here is a small sample of some tracks off Vol. 2.

props for the skream post. over here (UK) people pretty much regard him as the current pioneer of dubstep. don't know if either of those CDs have it (they probably do) but "Midnight Request Line" has gotta be his illest tune. again, props.

nice m. i am just getting up to speed. ill take the rec. and track down that track asap. thanks for that.
all the best.
Just had another thought, K.
check out www.barefiles.com
it's essentially a database of dubstep mixes. i dread to think how many GBs of music is on there. a couple of Skream mixes of note are entitled something like "Mix Sept '05" and "Mix Aug '04". the mixes on there are all free to download and share if i recall correctly.
Peace,
M
Hey K, still getting those dub CDs together for you... and still can't find "10 Dubs" whihc is a real bummer. All your links seem to have reached the limit on yousendit. That makes me sad. A friend recommended www.streamload.com, maybe check them out? Not sure if they are better or what, but yousendit drives me nuts. Cheers, KL.
sorry to hear that about the YSI. ezarchive never seems to be working when i want to up some tracks...i will check out streamload.com just want a reliable place to upload some tracks.
no rush on the dub i have all sorts im just getting around to listening to now.
