Ayatollah's beats are what drove Mos Def's hit "Ms. Fatbooty" and have worked for countless other leading hip hop figures from Ghostface, Rakim, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and R.A. the RUGGED MAN. Ayatollah's 2006 release Now Playing showcases his superb production skill. Its an instrumental collection of his favorite compositions. Be sure to check it out.

Shit.

I was just talking about some great tracks he's known for with a friend..."My Life" (on Soundbombing III), Joy (Kweli), and another track on "Black on Both Sides", "Know That". I'm sure there's others, but I'm drawing a blank here.

I agree, he hasn't garnered nearly as much praise as he deserves. Feels like he was another one of those guys behind the scenes at Rawkus doing some big tracks...but if you didn't have an entire album you produced (El-P, Hi-Tek), you got overlooked. Makes sense, you gotta be visable to be known.
