Well since this is america and its innocent until proven guilty I shouldn't go to far with the new damning evidence that Barry Bonds half of the Killer B's and "single season home run king" took roids. Ahh forget that crap let's pretend we're in France for a day.

The man was on the juice. Barry Bonds used a vast array of performance-enhancing drugs, including steroids and human growth hormone, for at least five seasons beginning in 1998 according to a book written by two San Francisco Chronicle reporters for Sports Illustrated.

The details are very specific. There is clear documentation of not only the types of steroids used but the dosages, levels and schedules of the different types of injections, ingestions, and spreading-of-the-clear. Evidence also points out that Bonds was renowned for violent mood swings.

Here is a couple headlines that should raise some eyebrows:
Tainted love: Bonds fooled us all by Inside Bay Area.com
Most fans don't care if Barry Bonds took steroids by Chicago Sun-Times

First, Bonds fooled us all? Sorry there guys but I have never been fooled. Have you check out the size of Barry Bonds? Did you see him during his time at Pittsburgh or early days in SF? Fooled us all? More like fooled the idiots at InsideBayArea.com. Sorry please don't include me in your stupidity this guy was never fooling me.

Second, loving this headline coming out of Chicago. Please, fans don't care about steroids? Kind of like Sammy Sosa wasn't using? I care! And anyone that watches baseball should care. He is cheating! Don't people find a problem with cheating? Well I guess if you are taking the Cubs fans that defended Sammy Sosa and his abnormal bulk and corked bat as an example of "fans," then maybe its cool if B-squared is juicing it up.

Here is another good one, Baker says he 'never' saw Bonds use steroids. Hey Dusty, I love you man, think you're doing great things for the Cubs, but if Bonds was using I don't think he is going to be amping up in front of the team manager.

Last thought. I like baseball. Its a fun sport, but this steroid stuff is killing it. McGwire the liar, Slammin Sammy and now Barry Bonds, its a joke. Baseball has its version of Watergate. The house of cards has fallen. They need to get it under control. It might be awful to say but I am going to say it anyways...I hope Barry Bonds is finished. I hope he is done because I don't want him breaking Henry Louis "Hank" Aaron's career home run record. Baseball deserves better and so does Hammering Hank.

Here is some of that specific evidence I was talking about earlier about what they have on Bonds via Deadspin via SI:
• In 2001: "Bonds was using two designer steroids referred to as the Cream and the Clear, as well as insulin, human growth hormone, testosterone decanoate (a fast-acting steroid known as Mexican beans) and trenbolone, a steroid created to improve the muscle quality of cattle."
• Bonds actually went off-cycle to take as many steroids as possible, injesting (or injecting) far before his regular schedule required him to.
• He started taking the higher-grade steroids because he was "jealous of Mark McGwire."

Barry Bonds
The End.

Fooled, schmooled. My theory is that celebrities can get away with so much is because in our society, we treat them as sort of demigods. That, and I'm sure BB's got plenty of PR people working for him, so even though everyone knows he's taking steroids, no one can do anything about it. If he's taken to court, he's just going to be acquitted just like any of the other celebrities out there. Sick, but it's true.

They should just legalize this shit so the "cheating" part can be neutralized.

Love the US losing to a bunch of Canadian minor-leaguers today. That shit was beautiful to watch. Seriously beautiful.

As for bonds, I hope these accusations finally stick. It's time to throw him to the dogs of public opinion and watch his HOF aspirations flame out. It would be apt karmic revenge for years of hostility, jealousy and an ego-driven approach to the ultimate team game.

Legalizing is the last thing that needs to be done.

It would only encourage some numbskull father to juice his 14 or 15 year old kid so he could get a leg up on the competition to get a college scholarship or something.

JT you and Kevin are obviously haters of Freedom and haters of democracy and justice. You must be both terrorists and communists because I can't think of any other type of people that would root against A-Rod and D. Jeter.

Kidding, I hate A-Rod and I can't stand Jeter hell lets throw Damon's punk ass in there as well. Don't mess with Morneau or Jason Bay both those Canadians are the real deal. Selig seriously has a PR nightmare on his hands.

As a side note what the HELL are the South Africa, Netherlands, and Italy doing with a Team?? That is a stretch to say the least.

Its like the US fielding a cricket team.

If those teams are anything like the Greek Olympic baseball team, it's made up of Americans and Canadians of Greek descent.

Also, with all of the Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Jamaicans and Trinidadians in this country, we could probably come up with a decent cricket team.

There's a weekly pickup cricket game at a park in downtown Birmingham that I've played in a few times.

If anything, if the US were to somehow lose/get knocked out in the group stage, I think it would prove Selig's experiment to be a good one. I mean, who wants to have a tournament where there is a team head-and-shoulders above everyone else who wins easily as expected?

It would definitely show that the WBC isn't just some Mickey Mouse A-Rod parade for all the Americans to stand up and waltz through teams with less talent. Not only that, but this is a huge endorsement for the strength and power of the Latin American teams, especially if they progress right to the end [which the DR should well do, and maybe Venezuela too] and seriously challenge for the trophy.

This is what world tournaments should be about. Giant-killing, Goliath-slaying, and there's no bigger turkey than the US team right now. Even if they do go out on Friday [which I doubt], people will still watch the rest of the tournament in high numbers thanks to the strength of the Latino community in the USA.

Fuck 'em, I hope A-Rod's all-stars crash out. Maybe some South African will knuckleball them to a shutout! Oh, we can dream!

Nico -- I miss cricket man. Coming over here from the UK a few years ago, I lamented for a long-ass time about not being able to play cricket. I've knocked around with the Caribbean league here in brooklyn a little bit, but let's face it, I get destroyed when I'm out there. Facing those 90mph bowlers without real pads ain't for the faint of heart.
