"a cup full of wide-eyed soul" -XLR8R
Critics be damned Nightmares on Wax (NOW) puts out some of the most chilled out trip hop out there. NOW is consistantly one of my favorite groups. Its all ask for in music--downtempo, hip hop, heavy baseline, soulful lyrics. Fits my laidback, gentle demenor. Well NOW has a new record out, In A Space Outta of Sound and what I have heard so far its great stuff. Its a departure from Smoker's Delight and Carboot Soul in its rich downtempo vibe but doesn't go as far a Mind Elevation. This album I could be describe as a middle ground between the first two and the last.
From Boomkat:
"Falling somewhere between the jaunty pop-styled fare of 'Mind Elevation' (which, lest we forget, sound-tracked a Lunnpoly advert) and the more down-tempo moodof 'Carboot Soul', E.A.S.E. seems happy to allow the blunted predilection of 'Smoker's Delight' to hang where it is - focusing on a 1970's vibe that (stylistically) isn't a million miles from Blockhead's recent crate-digging excursions."Mp3: Nightmares on Wax - "Flip Ya Lid"
Mp3: Nightmares on Wax - "The Sweetest"

Hey K --
just picked this up. I've been a huge NoW fan since Smokers' Delight. Very impressed thus far w/ In a Space Outta Sound. "Flip Ya Lid" is monster and "Damn" is, well, . . . damn!!
hey NOW fans-
what is that hip hop track that is "damn" with lyrics?!
I can only think of one line, "so gimme room," but who is it? I know I have it in my collection but don't wanna go through every CD...
help!
