Tanya Morgan is releasing their third project, Brooklynati. Tanya Morgan was founded in 2003. by Von Pea and Donwill, met on the okayplayer.com message board and decided to work on a full-length album together. Ilyas would be added to fill out the group and be the producer.

Considered by many to be our generation's torchbearers for De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, Their new album Brooklynati is a full blown multi-media project with the sites, sounds, memories, and events released via Interdependent Media. Maybe this is a bit self serving but I guess that is how it works. Here is a new track from the new wave, electronic outfit Pollyn. Pollyn is made up of Genevieve Artadi, Anthony Cava, and Adam Jay Weissman. They began collaborating in 1999 in LA. They create a great blend of atmospheric type pop. Sade comes to mind when listening to this track. But other stuff is more in the new wave vein.

Their first full length album entitled, This Little Night featuring Kristian Riley and Dave Cooley (Silversun Pick Ups and Darker My Love respectively). Pollyn is also doing a show June 8th at The Echo in LA. Analog Giant is featured on the flyer which is exciting and wierd at the same time. Exciting that its a band that I actually enjoy and am feeling at the moment. Wierd that its in LA at a club that I have never been too. Ah well just excited about the opportunity. If you are in LA you should go as the Gaslamp Killer and Big Moves Band will also be there.

Did I mention how excited I am to be helping out all three of these great groups? Answer is very. Check out a track from Pollyn's record.

From my motherland (well technically from my father's father's mother land but whos counting?),Röyksopp has been making great downtempo pop type records since 2001. The duo from Tromsø, composed of Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge have two new record out this year, Junior and Senior.

Junior which came out in March and its Senior is due out later this year. Senior is set to be a more subuded, laidback record which contrasts Junior's more upbeat energetic sound. The first single off Junior was "Happy Up Here." The second is "The Girl and the Robot" which features the upstart Swedish singer Robyn. The single features 12 remixes from single will be released on June 15, 2009 with remixes from Kris Menace, Chateau Marmont and Spencer & Hill. Check out the remix from the AG loved Ocelot.

Jazz Liberatorz (Madhi, Dusty and DJ Damage) a French hip hop group that I think is largely unknown in the United States have a new record entitled Fruit of the Past. The record features the Jazz Liberatorz typical blend of breezy, laidback soul and jazz soundscapes contrasted by more funky beat tracks that feature a top notch list of vocal guests including Aloe Blacc, Fat Lip, Wildchild, Mos Def and others. Check out a more traditional hip hop track track off the record.

Nostalgia 77's new record is Nostalgia 77 Sessions with Keith & Julie Tippett and it is out now. Nostalgia 77 aka Ben Lamdin began with an almost funk sound in 2002 which 2 years later he evolved into a more downtempo jazz style. He has even done some hip hop and real downtempo electronic stuff. This isn't the sound of his new record though. This record is some classic straight up jazz with smooth female vocals. Its really great stuff. Check out a track.

Check out a track from the record and don't forget to support his work.

Never really heard of this girl. Her official bio is pretty lame (seriously read it on her myspace)but this song is fantastic. Guess she is famous for her tracks being in ads. I missed them obviously. But I don't miss a remix from fellow blogger Eli Escobar. He runs the on point blog Outside Broadcast and obviously has infinitely more ability when it comes to actually creating music. Check out this remix he did for Lenka. Great stuff.

Just came across this nice mixtape by Houston based Squincy Jones who took a not so novel idea (the mashup, the mixtape) and made it unique by taking two things I love, but never would have thought of side by side, dubstep and video games. Jones worked for about 2-3 weeks on the project and in his own words it "combines three of the raddest things to ever happen to music; dubstep, 8bit Nintendo Loops, and rap." I couldn't agree more.

Soul one day house music the next. The Frenchmakers (from Paris of all places) are 3 young french producers: ARNO COST, NORMAN DORAY and PIERRE DE LA TOUCHE. Their first EP was Let U Go released in 2006 on SERIAL RECORDS they quickly gained a dancefloor following and their new record, Miracle funky and perfect for the dance floor. There is a bunch of remixes out there. The album actually came out almost a year ago but I was just found the track thanks to U-Tern's One Day Later radio podcast.

We have talked about Nosaj Thing here in the past and fallen in love with his remixes of tracks on multiple occassions. He now has a whole record for you to listen to. Nosaj Thing is the music name of Jason Chung a L.A.-based producer. He has been deemed an "Artist-to-Watch" by XLR8R and remixed Analog Giant favorites like Daedelus and Flying Lotus. He's also won Plastic Little/Turntable Lab's remix contest featuring MF Doom, and won L.A.'s prestigious Project Blowed beat battle. Here is a track off his new record.
