I recieved a formal DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice regarding allegedly infringing content hosted on my site (ie a mp3 by Kano). I have responded by taking down all mp3s.
Most of them I had permission to use from promo organizations or the artists themselves...some of them I did not. I believed since I only feature one track and prominantly have a link to where you can buy the record it was all good. Obviously that wasn't enough.
I'm still going be hosting mp3s I guess I'll just have to get permission first or watch myself more closely.

what a joke! i just re-read the post. you gave such a great plug for the artist/album. i bet that was the first exposure to kano for alot of people. sorry man. this is too bad. i sure hope it doesnt affect what you do. keep it up.
It goes without saying, that is FUCKED!!! I've bought music you have featured as have probably many others. People can file share and get it for free if they want anyway, you would think promoting an artists or album that we may otherwise not have heard of is of value to them, not a violation of their rights. Keep up the good work AG.
when will the music industry & record labels recognize that what we (bloggers) do promotes their artists. if you feature an artist on your blog that i've not heard of i check out whatever you post... delete it if i don't like it, and half the time run out and buy it if i like it! to an extent we (you far more than me) are taste makers! many artist on your blog owe half their fame to your and others lie you. this pisses me off. thanks for doing what you do though... peace.
i skipped a 'k' there. others 'like' you. regardless... i agree w/ 'e.z.'... this is fucked.
