Album is out there. Its dope. I've been a Coldplay hater for a minute but the track "Homecoming" has me seeing Chris Martin in a whole new light. Top to bottom album is great. Get after that pre-order. Bury 50 cent. His act is tired. Positive hip hop from here on out. Don't slow down Kanye.

Tight production front to back, can do without the Mos & Lil' Weezy tracks, but I love the approach 'Ye took with the album's production/sequencing...

As a wizened man of experience (some may call it crustiness), I see hip hop's "values" problem as something that will work itself out with its audience-eventually. By the time your average hip hopoise mellows into their 40s, give or take, the gangsta spew, misogyny, expletiveness, and assorted general callowness associated with the art forms worst elements, simply becomes intolerable.

But I agree with your statement completely: If we want to see hip hop change into something more positive than it's up to us as consumers to support its best elements and shut out its worst. Voting with your dollahs is a sure-fire way to get corporate's attentions.

Amy Winehouse's in-laws recently asked the public to stop supporting her addictions by buying her product: Maybe this could be the start of something here. Or maybe not. Still, it's something worth holding out hope for, isn't it?
