I am going to continue to try and bribe back my readers after the long hiatus dude to midwest weather. I have three (3) mixtapes by Darko (of Spank Rock) to give away. The approximately 50 minute mixtape features all sorts of great tracks from the Ninja Tune catalog (Kid Koala, Coldcut, The Herbaliser, Blockhead, TTC, Mr. Scruff, DJ Food, Amon Tobin, One Self, Bonobo, Spank Rock the list goes on). The question is simple:

If you could see one (1) Ninja Tune artist live who would it be and why?

Post up your comments and don't forget that always needed email so I can get back to you when you win. Post' em up this thing is fantastic. Check out a sample of the record.

Mp3: Mr. Scruff & Spank Rock (Darko Mix)

Be sure to check out Darko's myspace here.

Spank Rock would have to be my choice, the energy at one of their shows would be incredible. Not to mention they put out one of my favorite records of last year and continue to pump out rediculously good jams.

I would go for TTC (ninja tune/big dada) i love their live performances - they have the power to make everybody jump around ... especially with tracks like "girlfriend" - they can easily make every single person go crazy ...

This isn't Mr Scruff and Spankrock that Darko has remixed, its Coldcut and Roots Manuva - True Skool.81

Coldcut, the founding fathers of NinjaTune, are at the top of my 'must see live' list. I was supposed to see them in Boston on the NinjaTune 10th Anniversary tour in 2000, but they got held up by customs coming down from Canada and cancelled.

I've seen almost every other Ninja artist that's come through the Northeast. Amon Tobin never disappoints!

feel fortunate to have had coldcut, amon tobin, spank rock, and kid koala all rock seattle in fine form within the past year, but i'm most stoked to see:

cinematic orchestra.

because they make some of the most gorgeous and heartbreaking music out there. if they bring a full band, seems like it'd be a damn special show.

plus, i've never seen them before...

and yppah, if he ever tours.
