Hip Hop birthplace under pressure.

Great article by the NY Times this morning about the possibility that gentrification will destroy the housing complex at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue where Clive Campbell aka DJ Kool Herc presided over his turntables and is widely credited as the founder of hip hop if not the creator of the break-beat DJing.
