*Darc Mind - Symptomatic of a Greater Ill
*M-1 - The Confidential
*Shrift - Lost in a Moment
*Masta Killa - Made in Brooklyn
*Wax Tailor - Tales of Forgotten Melodies (US Release)
*A-Trak - Oh No You Didn't
*Nino Moschella - The Fix
*Alice Smith - For Lovers, Dreamers & Me

*The Knife - Silent Shout
*Girl Talk - Night Ripper
*Danielson - Ships

I'd add more to the overrated list just can't think of any more that really stand out like the three listed. Don't get me wrong I don't think those records are complete garbage I just think they are getting more run than they deserve. Maybe it's me.

I liked some of the Knife tracks but somebody moaning over spaced out techno instrumentation just doesn't equal best record of the year. Give me Deep Cuts any day. Danielson I completely don't understand. How does Daniel Smith's voice not drive you absolutely mad?

I also find Girl Talk highly overrated because there are so many people doing better mashups/blends out there with a quarter of the credit (The Rub crew & DJ B.Cause to name two).

Mp3: Marvin Gaye - "Sexual Healing" (B.Cause Give It Up Remix)

As always post overrated, underrated lists in comments or just tell me I have just got everything completely wrong.

Jay-Z's return was definitely overrated. He leaves for 3 years, and what do we get? A whole lot of re-warmed clips, lots of guests, lots of flair and production, but not a whole lot of real substance. Some bright spots on there, don't get me wrong, but let's face it. It was an overrated album.

Good call. I was trying to throw up records that people were saying were AWESOME and I found just ok. With Jay I don't know how many people actually found that to be a good record.

A-fucking-men on The Knife. Hey folks, the emperor has no clothes and The Knife shouldn't be in everyone's top five.

Can't make up my mind on The Knife, but when I'm not feeling them I think you're totally right.

And THANK YOU for pointing out how freakin overrated Girl Talk is. I always find that Night Ripper is "My First Mashup Mix" for so many of my friends that don't know a lot about the cut and paste world. Then I show them DJ Food's "Raiding the 20th Century" mix and they see that Girl Talk really isn't that impressive at all.

When I first heard The Knife, I wanted to launch myself from the moving vehicle. I grew to like it more, but it's still not in the Best Albums of 2006.

And I won't even get started discussing my disappointment with Jay-Z...

don't get me wrong i am bananas about "we share our mother's health" (think thats what its called) but the rest of the disc is pretty forgetable for me.

agree with you on everything but the knife. The emperor may be naked, but the knife still kicks ass
