In honor of the Spelling Bee being on ABC here is the most clutch Spelling Bee performance I have ever seen by Akshay Buddiga. You might have thought that alopecoid and fainting was going to hold him down but no. The kid has ice flowing through his veins. He stands up and nails it. Don't mess.
Its nice to see America interested in something that actually requires intelligence and propogates learning rather than watching mindless reality television, stupid game shows which require no strategy or celebrity gossip shows.
On the flip side its hard to stomach 14 year olds busting out words that a kid just off getting his MA has no clue how to spell.
Update: Katharine Close of New Jersey does False 45th and Tony Soprano proud by spelling ursprache. Cold blooded.

What the hell is wrong with the kid's fellow competitors? Not one of them makes a move to help him. One kid doesn't even move her folded hands one inch.
Perhaps their parents should spend a little more time teaching their kids about humanity than how to spell words. Geez, is that ever disturbing to see.
Thats an interesting point. I thought it was odd that the kid just lays there and nobody moves to help him up. Guess the Bee is just cutthroat like that.
