While I continue my electro pop kick fresh off Annie and Mylo I am now into Kelley Polar. As Pitchfork highlights Mr. Polar has one hell of a musical background. He has classical training from Juilliard and arrangement work for Metro Area (whos label Eviron released the album). His older sister is Blevin Blectum which means something to Pitchfork but nothing to me given I have never heard of her.

Kelley was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia to parents in the US Diplomatic Corps. He began playing violin at age 3 and composing soon after. His first symphonic-disco composition (entitled "Get in the Love Bubble") was published a year later. Interestingly the record label website tells the story that Kelley was recently expelled from Juilliard for the "riot" during his Master's Recital. He now is retired and living in his farmhouse basement studio, and is the caretaker of a herd of Scottish Longhair cattle in New Hampshire.

AMG states that the album "is synth-phonic space-age boogie pop made possible with high-caliber songwriting, innovative production, and a maverick way of glancing at varied points in the past in order to chart the future." Sounds more like a time travel machine to me but thats cool. Its a great record if you like it be sure to buy it.
