Before I begin running on about some of my best albums I suggest you check out a couple great lists to make sure you haven't missed out on listing to some of the best of this year. Check out:
Here is our list of top 15 records of 2011. Decided not to put them in anytype of order just list them. Let me know what you think and some of the glaring mistakes that you think I have made. Remember our bias towards electronic and hip hop records so while you might find Bon Iver's latest record amazing I wasn't all that interested.

Below is a list of my favorites with associated links. Some to the actual album, some to videos, others to tracks. I threw in some SoundCloud remixes and other offerings because as you know we love ourselves some SoundCloud. Hope everyone has a great new year and lets hope for more peace in 2012.

Here is the list. An asterisk means it stood out among the others...

Looking for more music to rock your end-of-year party? Whatever mood you're going for, these three remixes will please your crowd. First up is an outstanding Basement Jaxx remix from Canadian producer Laberge. It's a skillfully synthed take on one of my all-time-favorite Jaxx tracks, Jump N' Shout. Next is a pretty weird but ultimately awesome remix of Eye of the Tiger from Cosmonaut Grechko, who has consistently been one of my favorite producers over the year. Finally, I discovered this 8-month-old but still perfectly funky remix of Busta's 'Dangerous' from The Reachers on Soundcloud thanks to a 'like' from another excellent producer, DJ Phaze. I shouldn't have overlooked this remix when it was released!

Looking for a good mix to warm up the crowd at your New Year's Eve party? The always-excellent JRMX has got you covered with his new 'Mixmas Tape'. Plenty of party-rocking fireworks from Oliver, Gigamesh, DJ EQ, The Rapture, and more on this free download. JRMX has been keeping busy, playing nights with the likes of Soul Wax, 2 Many DJs, and The Magician, and has a new EP coming in 2012. Looking forward to more goodness from him next year.

We want to come right out of the gate with a Xmas gift from one of our favorite electro-disco masters. Ghosts of Venice's edit of Le Knight Club is sure to help anyone get in the holiday spirit.
Le Knight Club - Holiday On Ice (Ghosts Of Venice Edit) *FREE XMAS GIFT* by Ghosts Of Venice
The second track is nothing new but it wouldn't be Xmas without something funky. Does anyone bring more funk than the mighty Kashmere Stage Band? Check out their track "Super Bad."
Kashmere Stage Band - Super Bad by Now-Again Records
We will close with a fantastic remix by Brooklyn's Chris Hires of The Rapture's track "How Deep is Your Love." So nice!

Happy holidays everybody. E and I should be getting some "Best Of" lists up early next week for you to check out. Peace!

It's been a while since we've featured the aptly named '96 Bulls, and this so-new-it's-still-toasty remix is the right way to refresh our love for the talented house duo. To end the year, they've remixed the The Knocks 'Brightside', an uplifting club track that would fit right into a New Year's Eve set. Somehow, they manage to build on the already fantastic work from The Knocks. While you're over on their Soundcloud page, be sure to check out all the other amazing tracks they've posted over the year.

Here's a new track from London brothers, Disclosure - "Tenderly". They're bringing back garage in their deep house productions.

Check out their other songs too:

Check out this brand new video for Flight Facilities' 'Foreign Language' featuring Jess Higgs on vocals. This an outstanding song, for sure, but it makes for an even more badass 70s video. Just look at that hair!

Soulful creation by Turkey's Onur Engin. Engin's new EP is just another example of his ability to create warm soulful edits. Really nice production on this one. Volume 6 might just be his best yet.

It's almost too much housey goodness for one Monday to handle, but I'm willing to risk it. Here's a trio of excellent tracks for you to dig into, leading off with the latest from Les Loups. Seems like over the last year, Les Loups have really taken off--which only makes sense when you can drop tracks like this on a regular basis.

Les Loups - Amicus (Original Mix) by Les Loups

Gabriell has long been one of our favorite Italian producers (along with, of course, Reset! and Fare Soldi). On top of the funky, freaky house vibe, there's just something a little weird about Gabriell's latest offering, "Baby Got House", which is just about perfect for me.

Gabriell - Baby got house (Excellior Rework) by Gabriell

Last up is a cut from Philadelphia's DJ EQ. There's something about the repeating voice sample in this unbelievably rump-shakin', super-squelchy disco track that simultaneously drives me crazy and keeps me mesmerized...and I like it.

Some great track came out last week. Here is just a really small selection of the best stuff you need to be listening to this weekend. The first is a Com Truise remix of Foster the People's "Helena's Beat."
Foster The People - Helena Beat (Com Truise Remix) by Com Truise
The third is from one of our favorite SoundCloud contributors Lord of Isles. The new track "Swell" is a nice building electro track that you should not miss. The track is part of an upcoming EP entitled Little Strong 2.
Lord Of The Isles - Swell (clip) forthcoming on Little Strong by Lord Of The Isles
Final track is a new remix from two of our absolute favorites Prins Thomas and his fellow countryman Lindstrom. They have a spacey (go figure) electro remix of Twin Sister's track "Bad Street." Straight disco goodness. Check it out! The remix is in support of Twin Sister's first North American tour. Have a great weekend everyone. Peace!

This one is as fresh as they come--a piping hot Oliver track made just yesterday. 'Footsteps' pushes the Oliver sound into a much more housey space (dare I say...disco?) and the result is one hell of a club anthem. When it comes to being consistently awesome Oliver is pretty much untouchable.

Free Ep by New Zealand producer Soulchef. This record would be perfect for summer but with that behind  we can hope the Chef warms these cold days here in Chicago. Soulchef puts out music on Bluebottle Records. Check it out.

This new Dimitri from Paris remix of the Rapture's 'How Deep is Your Love'? should be classified as weapons-grade disco. It's that good.

A gross oversight on our part is our failure to mention the new and fantastic Onra album Chinoiseries Pt.2.

The record is an excellent follow up to his 2007 record. For those in the dark Onra is a outstanding Persian hip hop producer. His beat making ability is almost unparallelled right now. When it comes to hip hop beatmaking Onra is certainly cutting edge.

Here is a couple of our favorites off the new record. Go get the CD. You owe this dude your support. If you don't trust me you can stream the entire record from his Soundcloud spot here.
