Well, here it is...in all its golden-jumpsuit (semi NSFW) glory, the new video from the masterful Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. This song rocked the crowd the last time I saw him live, but man, where was my invite to this video shoot? That's the kind of party I need right now.

Some great new tracks hit the web this week. My first pick is Pocketknife's "Willow Song" a very uncharacteristic Analog Giant track. Slow, accoustic track from a film called "Wicker Man." I have never seen it but this track is mellow. Nice work.
Willow's Song (Pocketknife's Midnight Sun Mix) by Pocketknife
The next is a can't miss remix by Skream of Chromeo's "Night by Night" track. Not new but simply fantastic.
Night By Night (Skream Remix) by Chromeo
The final track is a wonderful instrumental from Apparat. I guess the mood for this weekend is mellow. Maybe its because its been cold and a bit rainy here in Chicago. Guess its time to just relax and enjoy your weekend. Peace!

Ridney payed his respect to the legendary Roule label and Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter with a mix of some of the best French house tracks ever pressed. I still remember the first time I dropped the needle on a copy of 'Trax on da Rocks' in a record store somewhere, and, well...mind blown. As famous as these tracks are, I still think they don't get enough airplay, so now you have the chance to fix that courtesy of the talented Mr. Ridney.

Modeslektor has a new record coming out called Monkeytown which album features some pretty amazing talent like Thom Yorke, Siriusmo, Sascha Ring (aka Apparat), Busdriver, Miss Platnum, Anti Pop Consortium, Otto Von Schirach and PVT to name just a few. Check out a snippet of the track with Thom Yorke (there is actually two on the album). Pretty great. Sadly their tour brings them no place close to Chicago or Seattle. My favorite track off the album from first listen is the track featuring Miss Platnum.

I'm pretty excited about seeing New Look (couple from Brooklyn/Toronto), opening up for SBTRKT tonight here in Seattle! They kinda remind me of Quadron, in the fact that they blend electronic and soul/pop sounds.

My favorites from them are:
check out the video for the song too!

It's a tradition around here to post up just about everything from Oliver. Why's that, you silently don't ask? Because they're always just that good. You know, like this new "Memories of the Future" jam, with its strangely Castlevania-esque vibes. Here, just listen for yourself.

Some great tracks out this week that you can't miss. Some of our favorite artists back at it. First is from one of our favorites. Onra's track "A New Dynasty" brings his signature style. He is due to release the follow up to his Chinoiseries with a part 2. Don't miss it. The next track is from one of our favorite online producers Pyramid. He takes the excellent Chilly Gonzales track "Knight Moves." The final is a remix of Blood Orange's track "Champagne Coast." Have a great weekend everyone.

Fresh off of their USA tour, the fabulous rainbow-flavored frico disco dance keeps flowing from Fare Soldi. This time it's in the form of a remix of Gigamesh's "It's So Intense". How good is this? Free download, too.

A-Trak's tribute to the late and great DJ Mehdi has blown up across the internet across the last 24 hours, and we're here to do our part. As we said, Mehdi was and will always be one of our favorites, and this mini mix from the always impressive A-Trak is the perfect salute. RIP.

Just got an opportunity to hear this up and coming new Miami artist Steven A. Clark. Nice blend of classic soul singing with an alternative type beat. Pretty unique. One foot in the past one in the future. Enjoying this. You can check out Clark's entire new EP online here you can download it there for free as well.

New Tycho album, Dive from Ghostly International. Tycho aka Scott Hansen is an artist in the most true sense of the word. He creates great music along with doing great graphic design (see his photo/graphic blog, his shirt designs are amazing). The album is due out 11/2. Really great mellow sound that I can certainly get behind. Check out a remix of the lead single "Hours" by Vancouver BC's Teen Daze.

There's just something about that Magician--he just keeps creeping back into my playlists. He's especially cool when he gives out his brand new remixes for free, like this one of Tyson's "After You're Gone". Speaking of the purveyor of magic, he'll be on a big USA and Canada tour over the next few weeks. If you live anywhere near these stops, I definitely recommend you check out the show. Oh, and don't forget to download this remix while you can (just click on through to Soundcloud).

Now, I don't normally like to post an album tease, but two things:
A: It's a damn good tease. From the sound of it, this album is going to be completely massive. And...
B: It's Surkin.

This preview even sounds all wonky and washed out and I'm still hyped. Something tells me I'll be listening to this quite a bit when "USA" releases November 7th. Check it out!

Original track and remix from one of our favorites, Chris Glover aka Penguin Prison. His track "Multi-Millionaire" is simply amazing. Great lyrics and beat combined for greatness. He also takes the ever so popular Lana Del Rey and gives her track "Blue Jeans" a nice twist. Check them out.

Nice new 7" from Nite Jewel. Love this track. Check it out if you haven't yet. Nice little promo going along with the release of this single. The Nite Jewel x Love Letters Ink "7 comes with: A handwritten letter from Ramona Gonzalez and a secret link to watch a "making of" video from the recording sessions. Kinda cool.

Some really great mellow mixes from Dream Chimney. I am not even sure what Dream Chimney is. It appears to be some type of cosmic disco online magazine. Whatever it might be I love the music on their Soundcloud. Look forward to hearing and learning more...

I'm just about to head out the door to see the ever-fabulous Chromeo here in rainy Seattle, but before I do, I had to share this fantastic new One Day Later Radio from the masterful U-Tern. One hour and one minute of pure bliss featuring remixes of Friendly Fires, The Rapture, Cassius, a little Edwin Van Cleef, and lots more.

Some edits and remixes for your weekend. The first is old but a really good edit by LA's Kingdom that I had not heard before. Nice track to get the weekend going. If you have not heard the various incarnations of Flight Facilities' track "Foreign Language" you are really missing out. This remix is by Beni but there are a couple others out there that are equally as good.

The final track and a perfect one to wind your weekend down is Daedelus' remix of "Turn on the Sunlight." Simply wonderful. Its part of from the forthcoming album Turn On The Sunlight - Remixes / Collaborations featuring Daedelus, Child's View, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Koen Holtkamp, Build An Ark, and Coffee & Cigarettes Band. Have a great weekend. Peace!

No doubt we love Mayer Hawthorne. As any frequent AG visitors knows we have been a big supporter of him since the beginning. Super excited to see his sophomore album picked up by Universal. Good to see good people do well. We loved the single "Long Time" and even "The Walk" but what is the deal with this video? Its lame...a weak Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Probably wasn't cheap but there is just no innovation, no character that we are used to seeing from Mayer. Maybe I've raised the bar too high but the video for "Long Time" is fresh. Hope this video is just a blip on the radar.

B. Lewis' soundcloud has been pretty stale as of late with nothing new for the last six months. So, you can imagine my delight when I saw that he uploaded a new track today. "Smallegs" is a nice little hip hop instrumental that you have to check out. Aside from what he makes available on his soundcloud I don't know anything about this talented producer. If you happen to drop us a line! We love what we hear!

Nice collection of free tracks from Scrimshire. Its a collection of miscellaneous tracks that never found a true home. We really enjoyed their record Along Came a Devil One Night. Nice melodic album that is very enjoyable. These tracks came out right around the same time (2009), so its nothing new but we figured you would like to enjoy some free good music. Check out just one of the four tracks featured.

Download the record here.
