The vaunted Tensnake emerged today to drop this spacey, steppy remix of Mark E's "Call Me". Not usually my vibe, but this is something I could really get behind.

LuckyMe artist, Machinedrum releases his new 12" - Alarmaa Out of the 3 tracks, the b-side, YNY has got to be my fave. The cut-up sample and future boogie beat is what I gravitate to!

Great remix by Aussie Luke Foskey aka Young Edits. Certainly a deep electronic sound to this remix of Chicago's finest Kanye West. Check it out.

Wow...so power was just restored to our house. I never guessed moving from Vermont to Chicago would result in an increase in days without power. Storm on Wednesday kept me without power until today. Kinda crazy but also nice to just relax and not worry about keeping up with the electronic part of my life. Anyways...enough of my ramblings lets talk about some new music.
First track is a remix of the fantastic Daedelus by Star Slinger. Both of these dudes are high on my list so I recommend you check out this great remix. Its due out in purchasable form on July 8th. Check it out.
Daedelus - Overwhelmed (Feat. Bilal) [Star Slinger Remix] OUT JULY 8TH on NINJA TUNE by Star Slinger
The second is from fellow Chicago resident Bit Funk. His remix of Only Children's track "Don't Stop" is awesome. Check it out.
Only Children - Don't Stop (Bit Funk Remix) by Bit Funk
The final track was featured on Annie Mac and is absolutely massive. The track is mashup of Nina Simone and James Blake by LA producers Nadastrom and Heartbreak. Enjoy!

U-Tern just posted a previously unreleased track he recorded with some friends last year under the name Cordova. So yeah, it isn't exactly "new" and it isn't exactly from "U-Tern", but you get the idea. I have to say, though, that I really like the sound of this one--it definitely has that signature U-Tern touch to it (is it the snare drum roll? Or that extra thick layer of synthy goodness?). Good stuff. Free download, too.

Here's an hour and thirty five minutes of disco blissout from the always entertaining (and entertainingly named) Leftside Wobble. This "Acid Soul 6" mix is perfect for blasting through a pile of work. I'd suggest it for a good running mix, but at this length, you'd have to be running a solid half marathon to appreciate all of the funk on display. Before you start running, though, just don't forget to click through and grab the free download.

Another great electro track from Ernest Greene aka Washed Out. Subpop just posted this hours ago. Check it out. Pretty awesome.

Australians, Wax Motif and Anna Lunoe partner up for "Love Ting" - a fun house track, sampling boogie song, "It's A Love Thing" by The Whispers. Also check out LA DJ/Producer - Them Jeans take on it.
Jimmy Edgar takes his signature electro-funk/boogie sound to this throwback 90s R&B fave - INOJ's "Love You Down" (from the SoSoDef Bass All Star series), labeling it "Hyper R&B Neon".

19-year old Toronto producer Mix Chopin has made the clouds part here in Seattle with a very summery nu-disco jam called "I'm Gonna Get You". This full preview of the track is part of his new Love Story EP that comes out tomorrow. You should also check out these other remixes from Analog Giant favorites Robotaki and Darius.

Bergen Norway's The Glue has a knack for making some really great disco styled electro tracks. The mysterious duo's track "Cobra of Love" is a SoundCloud juggernaut. I recommend you check out this up and coming artist. If you happen to live in Bergen they have a couple upcoming shows.

Piping hot mixtape, straight from the bakery of the Bizkitt himself. But is this mixtape "Just For You"? Let's see. Does it feature the musical stylings of The Phantom's Revenge? Check. Oliver? Check. Breakbot? Oh yes, my friend. Go on, download it already! Go Go Bizkitt is hands down one of my favorite nu disco producers out there, and with the artists on play in this mix, it might as well be an Analog Giant playlist.

I don't know about you guys, but I still can't get enough of The Magician--this beast of Brussels, Stephen Fasano, may have formerly been one half of Aeroplane, but is currently a full portion of completely awesome. His mixtapes are usually the stuff the legend, and this one he just pulled out of his hat is no exception. I'll just say it right now--The Magician is one of my most watched, most-excited-about artists this year. If you haven't had a chance to feel the magic yourself, this mixtape is a great opportunity. He opens this mixtape with the song I have linked below (also a free download), Jeremy Glenn's 'New Life' (Perseus Summer of '83 Remix). Also quite excellent!

Really loving the boom on this new track from Paul Garcias & Alexandre Faivre, AKA Night Drugs. It's got a certain kind of hot-summery-night, trunk-shaking booty bass flair to it. And then the dead center of the song has that old-school Underworld charm. Free download on this one, so check it out!

I find myself listening to more and more electronic these days. I am not sure if that is a testament to the quality of electronic music being created or the quality (or lack of) good hip hop records. Ideally its a balance of the two genres mixed with a bit of jazz and some reggae and dub for me but electronic has been dominating as of late. Well...enough of my personal musings lets check out some of the electronic sounds I was digging last week. The first is a stellar remix of Homework's "Rally Racquet Club" by Oliver released on Made to Play. Check it out a really nice get up and get moving track.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) can really do no wrong for me. Its unfortunate he doesn't get anywhere close to Chicago. TEED along with SBTRKT are doing some amazing things right now. Check out a remix of his latest single "Trouble."
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Trouble (Chad Valley remix) by T-E-E-D
The last track is a slow moving spanning electronic track by german Nautic. Who I know very little about but first attracted by attention with his remix of Homboi's track "Shrimps."

Have a great and relaxing weekend everyone! Peace.
Great remix of "Banana Ripple" by Field in anticipation of the June 14th release of Its All True. Looking forward to June 24th when the Junior Boys are at the Metro here in Chicago.

Julio Bashmore does his house magic on this new release from Classixx. Peep them keys going along so well with the deep gospel sounding vocal provided by Karl Dixon.
One of my favorite DJ/Producers coming out of New York is Eli Escobar. In "Desire", he teams up with former Hercules & Love Affair vocalist, Nomi Ruiz (now with Jessica 6). I first heard this song off of Jubilee's Brooklyn Radio "Fireworks" show, and immediately had to know what the song was! Listen to these previews of the deep nineties-ish NY house track, which will be fully released June 13th.
SBTRKT work with Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano has been getting a bunch of play and rightfully so..."Wildfire" might be the best track of 2011. The excellence of the track should not over shadow his other tracks. While there is full length record...yet...he has a ton of remixes and singles that cannot be missed. Here is one entitled "Twice Bitten." Really love his production. Probably my favorite producer at the moment.
Here is a mix of tracks for your upcoming weekend - ranging for hip hop to house and some pop. The first emcee needs no introduction its a track by the mighty Pharoahe Monch featuring the soulful touch of Jill Scott. Highly recommended. The next is a dreamy poptype track by Joakim. The final track is by Mexican music maker DJ Javier Estrada. His track is probably my favorite of this selection check it out. Have a great weekend!

Great mix to help you finish up the week strong. Featuring a heavy selection of dancefloor fillers. The British duo even did a tribute mix to Macho Man Randy Savage...now that is a commitment to the 80s.

Solar Disco recordings served up these bad-ass, boot-shakin' edits of old-school funk and disco tracks. Fun fact: C.J. & Co.'s Devil's Gun was the first track played on the opening night of the legendary Studio 54. I can't even imagine what that night was like, but this is a damn fine edit. Oh, and all of these songs are available for free download if you act fast--just click on through.
