Tensnake busts out another great remix, swapping out the funky vibe of the Scissor Sisters "Any Which Way" original with ravey, old-school, handclappy goodness. Oh yeah.

Mad Decent just posted up this remix by Diplo and Lunice of Deerhunter's track "Helicopter." Can't say I listen to much Deerhunter (did like the last Atlas Sound record however) but I am enjoying this remix.

Nice video and track from Black Milk on his Album of the Year record. Directed by Anthony Garth, edited by Chris Chynoweth and filmed on Location in Detroit, MI. Great stuff.
Mayer Hawthorne and the County are making a return to Chicago with a show on October 27th at the Park West. Park West is probably my favorite Chicago venue and as everyone that reads this blog knows Mayer Hawthorne is one of our favorite artists. Get yourself some tickets here.

A little late on discovering these gems, but wow...some seriously funkay remix work from Germany's Lorenz Rhode and Robotaki, coming out of Montreal. Don't miss their other tracks!
Can't get enough of this jam by Pablo Diaz-Riexa aka El Guincho. His latest record is getting some much deserved attention. This R&B styled track remains one of my favorites of the year. Take a listen if you haven't yet.

MTV 2010 "Memory Bank" from Anthony Scott Burns on Vimeo.
I kind of forget that there is ever anything cool on MTV but I ran across this very cool piece of visual art. Not sure if it plays here in the states. I wouldn't know I never watch MTV but seeing something like this makes me want to, except I know that I'll just throw it on and it will be a bunch of self-entitled materialistic white people living on the beach or in a city "dealing" with some type of meaningless issue that they feel is a crisis...
As you know we are big fans of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (T-E-E-D). Here is a new remix he did of Professor Green along with a Jessie Rose remix of the track "Garden" both we think are worthy of checking out.

Really cool piece of footage from the recent Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble concert in LA. The video featuring Aloe Blacc pays respect to the late Keith Elam aka Guru with a rendition of "Betrayal." Link thanks to Spine Magazine.
Arguably the hardest remixing man in show business, Go Go Bizkitt, just posted a new remix of Miami Horror's "I Look to You". This remix has definitely got my head nodding, but of course the original is pretty incredible, too.

Our dude 10-4 Rog is back at it with his take on Mash Hall's Sleeping with a Ghost. Nice low-fi haunt to this one that is nothing like the original.

Paris-based producer Lifelike uploaded his live DJ set from the Pacific Festival, which went down Sept. 4-5th in LA. It's definitely getting my Friday started right. The tracklisting is generously sprinkled with Daft Punk chunks and some Treasure Fingers flavor crystals--it's magically delicious.

Really loving this remix of Voodoo Chilli - "Love Songs" from His Majesty Andre. The man took a Ginsu to this thing--chopping, dicing, flipping and reversing with wreckless abandon. It's disco fabulous.

Gold Panda who is in the Nosaj Thing vein just put out a new track on his Soundcloud that is really nice. He has an ambient, downtempo sound that is perfect for the moment as I work on an essay for school late on a Friday. Yes I am obviously procrastinating here as I should be doing that rather than writing a post about Gold Panda. Hopefully my procrastination is your gain. Check out a couple tracks.

Originally from France, Amy Aubrac-Prince is cooking up tasty disco house in Toronto under the name of Teen. Sounds like she's even working on getting a live act on the road--definitely one to keep an eye on. I especially like this Body Heat track--it's got just a little squeeze of Daft Punk over it, right?
Those funky Italians of RESET! have released their new "My Trunk" EP on the Cheap Thrills label, and man, they punch it to 1.21 gigawatts right out of the gate. Layers of disco house slathered with funky bleeps and freaky beats...all baked into a buttery pie crust. Here, check out a few choice cuts from the EP:

Camu Tao was a rapper and producer and part of the standout rap group Weathermen. His other projects included being a member of Central Services production team with El-P along with the MHz crew (Copywrite, RJD2, Jakki Tha MotaMouth and Tage Proto).
Tao sadly died on May 25, 2008, after a two-year battle with lung cancer, he was working on his first solo album for Definitive Jux at the time. King of Hearts is Tao's posthumous release, a long-awaited album, made up of demos and home recordings from this late underground rap fixture. It is out now on Definitive Jux as part of a collaboration with Fat Possum Records. Check out a track off the record. Rest in peace.
