Here are a couple things that caught my eye/ear this week. Its finally sunny here in Vermont and looks like its not going to rain or snow this weekend which might be the first time its done that since October 2006. Anyways check out some of the good stuff going on on the internetsssss.

Professor Sound
Reggaeton and everything-island expert Professor Sound gives us the heads up on a new Geisha track featuring giants Wyclef Jean, Tony Matterhorn, and Elephant Man (mp3 here).

U-Tern's Latest Mix
Love this dude out of Van City, BC his mixes are great check out his latest here.

Artist Type
Cool new thread making company by Joe Buck. The Dilla design is amazing.

Oprah versus Hip hop
Not totally sure what to make of this yet. The stuff that she is taking aim at is really a type of hip hop that I don't enjoy listening to either. Never been a big fan, but to attack the whole genre is a bit misguided in my opinion. Henry Louis Gates Jr. as can be expected had the most inciteful things to add to the discussion. Wall Street Journal has an article of interest as well ("Hip Hop no better than Imus").

Gorilla vs. Bear
Even the indie kids like Ghostface. Check out a remix that Chris featured this week of "Mighty Healthy" off of Ghost's Supreme Clientele done by Nobody of Busdriver production fame.

Just what is Reggaeton? Vamanos of the Hollerboard gives you an idea with a great 17 track set (mp3 here).

Different Kitchen
Black Milk is great and Different Kitchen gives you the heads up on a 3 part interview he did for Prefix Magazine.

Funky 16 Corners
Essential summer listening provided by Funky 16 corners.

if you don't have Nobody's Tree Colored See, go buy that today my friend ...
partake in the festivities of today & enjoy. Easy to get lost in its mellow daydreamy sounds. (It's the most overlooked album of last year in my opinion.)

I'm sure you've seen Saul Williams' (via stereogum) response to this, but just in case...
